Marmen wind towers will soon be shipped by rail

Good news! Marmen recently inaugurated rail access to service its main wind tower storage site. Built in cooperation with the Quebec Ministry of Transport and Quebec-Gatineau Railway Inc, this new rail trunk will enable the wind tower sections to be loaded directly onto rail cars. For long distances, rail transportation is a cost efficient alternative. In conjunction with trucking and shipping, the use of rail to transport wind tower sections gives Marmen an even greater competitive edge, especially in new markets such as the US Midwest.

The first rail shipment of wind tower sections is expected to leave Marmen’s facilities in November. The exact number of sections to be shipped annually by rail is yet to be confirmed. What is certain, however, is that Marmen has more transportation options available than ever before, a critical step on its path to growth.
